Growth Comments: Black Ruby is an excellent cultivar for both novice, and veteran growers alike. She basically grows herself, but multiple rounds of heavy defoliation enabled this plant to spread wide and stack heavy! Buds ripen with a colorful array of greens, purples, and bright orange pistils, and laden with velvety frost to the core.
Comments on smell (during growth, harvest, etc.): During growth, aromas varied from vegetative green, to spearmint and menthol, gassy funk, and she ended with a beautiful nose bouquet of skunky berries. Dried and cured however, she smells of ripe dark berry alcohol perfume, and jasmine!
The Smell: Earthy, Berry, Floral, Blueberry, Fruit, Pine, Menthol, Grass, Mint, Spearmint, Eucalyptus, Jasmine
The Smoke: Thick, sweet, and heavenly deep. This is hands down the best sleep bud I have grown to date. Taste on exhale is a sweet berry perfume and earthy. Very smooth, but also very expansive and hard to hold.

The High: Slow onset, taking about 15 minutes to peak, strong force pulling eyelids down and very heavy in the body. Very nice pain relief in my legs I notice. High is long lasting but you want to go to bed about an hour in, and sleep like a baby. The most notable characteristic of this strain for me is my tolerance hasn’t changed with this strain in months of regular use.

Final Comments: I really hope Black Ruby becomes a regularly available strain on the portal. I haven’t gotten the chance yet to run the parents individually to note differences and similarities, but for Black Ruby, she’s a keeper that checks all boxes in the indica department for me. A real honor to grow this one.
