Topped Nashira and Fairy Frost Begins Days 1-14

Here we are again, starting another Topped adventure, getting to play with the Fairy Frost and the Nashira, both of which I can see enjoying some topping and bondage. To see who is up for filling most of my paper bags and jars this run, Stick Around!

This post includes the first session of Topping so read to end  :Approve:

I have also just finished my 2nd session of Topping and you will shortly see that play out here at the Portal.

Topping and Pruning of Unwanted Growth

This part always hurts till you see the benefits on that plant and all is forgiven. Most the time…

First Up is Selection of what is wanted and what is not.

Nashira Day 14

Fairy Frost Node Selection Day 14
Nashira Node Selection Day 14
  • After careful thought I went with the usual
  • Remove First Single Finger Leaves and their Growth
  • Like the look of the Second and 3rd Sets of Fan Leaves/Nodes/Placing
  • Went ahead and Made the Topping Cut Just Above the Third Nodes growth leaving space for branching and Just under Forth Set Fan Leaves

Nashira and Fairy Frost Tops and 1st Set Remains Day 14

Growth/Nutrient Notes for Both Below;

  • Soaked and dropped to base of glass of water in under 6-12 hours
  • Cracked and Showed Nice Long Tap Root within 2-3 Days in Water
  • Planted on 3rd Day in 1Ltr Regular Pot to start.

Day 0

  • Showed Shell and a little Stem Above ground
  • Made sure to keep shell wet with lower RH% and higher Temp than Normal

Day 1

  • Fully Upright
  • Starter and 1st set of Single Finger Fan Leaves Fully open
  • 1st Bottom Feed of Straight Tap Water
  • Re Wet top layer of Coco with gentle spray.

Day 4

  • First  Gentle Flood – Waste Feed
  • Canna – Coco – A+B – 0.6ml/L
  • Cyco – Supa Stiky – 0.4ml/L
  • Cyco Uptake – 0.4ml/L
  • AUXINONE 0.4ml/L

Day 5

  • 1 Day after 1st feed of mild seedling nutrients and looking good
  • Will give a 1-3 Day gap to dry pot a bit then decide if to re-dose same or increase strength
  • Approx 1-1.3″ tall
  • 1st  Single Set Fan leaves now span nearing edges of pot
  • 2nd Set Appeared not long ago, so small but visible

Day  7

  • 2nd Flood  – Waste  Feed
  • Same Strength Mix as Previous
  • Lush Light Green

Day 9

  • Final Flood – Waste with that strength mix just to empty bottle that time really and keep Coco moist with fresh nutrients available.
  • 4th Set of Fan Leaves now showing
  • First Set of Leaves slightly so will increase nutrients next feed, and with bottle empty that is a bonus having no waste!

Day 11

  • Paling of the Single Finger Set and amended self after final feed
  • Even Though same mos it appears that they just wanted more of it to into system as was on just plain water not long ago
  • 4th Sets of Fans are now well visible and even showing their tiny 4th and 5th Fingers
  • 1st and 2nd Sets on both plants have reached edges of pots
  • Both also showing Fresh Roots coming out of base of pots
  • So they will be Transplanted to their 3.2Ltr Final Pots as soon as space permits
  • (Hydra/Moon Tears were still alive Flowering, dominating most of the light and space)
  • Made New Nutrient Mix Up;
  • Canna – Coco -A+B – 0.8ml/L
  • Cyco – Uptake – 0.6ml/L
  • Cyco – Supa Stiky – 0.5ml/L
  • AUXINONE – 0.8ml/L
  • Flood – Waste Style Feeding

Day 13

  • Finished that slightly raised new mix
  • Both girls looking extremely Lush Green and reaching over the edges of width of 1Ltr Pots now
  • So will be Upping the Nutrients Mix next feed
  • Also since Fan Leaf Span is over pot I will try making space for them in Tent to be Transplanted to Final Pots, Size being 3.2Ltr. Looks right around time to start organizing ..

Day 14

  • Awoke to find a nice continuation of fan Span and the start of Broardening
  • Planned to Transplant to Final Pots but wanted the Coco a touch drier not wanting too much bottom weight while stem and roots are so fresh when flipped over for repotting
  • Intend to give it another 12-24hrs to be optimal

Made New Mix But Did Not Use Today;

  • Canna – Coco – A+B – 0.9ml/L
  • Cyco – Uptake – 1ml/L
  • Cyco – Supa Stiky – 0.5ml/L
  • AUXINONE – 0.8ml/L

First Topping Session is on Day 14 Just sneaks into this post because of a days mislabeling on my part lol

  • Since deciding to Transplant tomorrow Due to more than preferred moisture/weight in pot vs stem strength
  • There was however My Preferred Spacing between the Nodes I Top at usually so went ahead with my first intended Topping Sessions
  • Fairy frost had room for error
  • Nashira was a bit tighter but got her done
  • Very happy both got topped now can recover overnight with my 24/0 light schedule and be set for the Transplant tomorrow for a less dramatic change in environment and for nice gradual above ground work but will be doing most work under surface like Main Roots and hairs and structure in general for later intended top heavy plants.
