Strain review by Frank the Tank: Citrus Noir

Strain: Citrus Noir

Grower Name: Frank the Tank

Medium: Coast of Maine Bar Harbor Blend potting soil (2 gallon pots)

Nutrients: Kind Soil

Lights type and schedule (indoor): LED, Mars Hydro II 1200, 24/0

Days from Seed: 60 and 76

Harvest Points: I harvested the first plant at day 60, and she had the best smell and taste, along with a nice uplifting high.

The second plant got harvested at day 76 and had less smell and taste, and more of a relaxing high, and better pain relief.

Dry Yield (grams): Plant #1 – 57 grams Plants #2 – 32grams

Growth Comments: These plants were a pleasure to grow, with no sensitivities noted. Plant #1 had a nice, big structure with good side branching and dense buds. Plant #2 was a more compact plant with a prominent main cola, and small side branches. These buds were absolutely rock solid.

Comments on smell (during growth, harvest, etc.): Plant #1 smelled of sweet lemon candy during growth, and maintained that citrus sweetness after harvest.

Plant #2 had a more bitter citrus smell during growth, and ended up with a rotting lemon smell mixed with some skunkiness after harvest.

The Smell: Rotten, Skunk, Citrus, Lemon

The Smoke: Both cuts are very smooth through a joint, bong, or vape.

Plant #1 is my favorite morning toke because she is motivating and uplifting.

Plant #2 is my go to for mornings when I need some uplifting pain relief. This cut also seems to help with the morning stiffness I experience.

If you are a med user, describe briefly your health conditions and how this strain affects them

PTSD, Insomnia, Psoriatic Arthritis, anxiety, spinal injury

Citrus Noir is a go to for my PTSD and anxiety. The antidepressant qualities are top notch. The later cut is great for pain control when I don’t want the sedation of some of the other strains I use.

Final Comments: Over all I really like Citrus Noir. The earlier cut has the best aroma of any plant I’ve ever grown. The citrus smell is off the charts. I find myself reaching for Citrus Noir throughout the day. From a medical patient stand point, she is great as an antidepressant that will motivate you to get moving. The later cut is great pain relief when you don’t want to deal with sedation. From a recreational view point, she will have you laughing and joking all evening. Creative thoughts flow easily with this strain and food and music are that much more enjoyable because of her. I hope to always have a jar of the Citrus Noir on hand.
